RELIGIOUS SENSITIVITY
White Info icon with grey background

Data is gathered from CIA World Factbook.

A majority of Guinea-Bissau is Sunni Muslim with most of those communities being from the northern part of the country. Christian communities are more concentrated along the coast and within Guinea. To maintain separation of church and state, government leaders have been increasingly cutting religious-related state funding. Religious groups are mostly respectful towards each other, but many are concerned about rising extremists.

TRANSPORTATION

Driving in Guinea-Bissau is extremely dangerous with a fatality/accident rate almost triple that of the United States. Road conditions are often poor, and night-time driving should be avoided. Much travel is done by ships that travel by river from town to town or ferries along the coast.
